Volunteers play a vital role in helping Hospice provide compassionate care to patients and whānau in our West Auckland community.
Whether assisting in our op shops, contributing to fundraising activities, visiting patients and whānau, or helping at an event, every volunteer role is valued. Each contribution, whether big or small, helps us deliver essential palliative care services to the people of West Auckland and to keep these free – our volunteers are truly Westies helping Westies!
Our volunteer programme includes around a dozen teams across the organisation, with training and support to help every volunteer feel confident in their role. We provide a welcoming, inclusive and professionally supportive environment where everyone can make a genuine difference. No previous volunteer experience is required. All applicants complete a Hospice orientation, followed by role-specific training and ongoing one-to-one and team support.
